Pesquisa de pós-doutorado avalia mulheres com incontinência urinária
Uma pesquisa de pós-doutorado desenvolvida no Laboratório de Pesquisa em Saúde da Mulher (Lamu) da UFSCar pretende traduzir e adaptar para o Português brasileiro instrumentos internacionais que facilitam a identificação dos sintomas da incontinência urinária em mulheres. O projeto é realizado pela pós-doutoranda Michele Rúbio Alem, sob supervisão de Patricia Driusso, docente do Departamento de Fisioterapia (DFisio) da UFSCar e Coordenadora do Lamu, e vai traduzir, adaptar culturalmente e validar os questionários Questionaire for Urinay Incontinence Diagnosis (QUID), The Three Incontinence Questions (3IQ) e Vulvovaginal symptoms questionnaire (VSQ).
O quadro da incontinência urinária em mulheres é muito comum e pode ser causado por diversos fatores, como gestações, medicamentos, tabagismo, entre outros. A disfunção é caracterizada pela perda de urina, mesmo que em pequena quantidade, quando a pessoa tosse, espirra, ri, faz exercícios ou quando sente vontade urgente de urinar e não consegue chegar em tempo ao banheiro. De acordo com estudos na área, as alterações fisiológicas e as disfunções do assoalho pélvico podem ter repercussões sociais, pessoais e emocionais, contribuindo com a diminuição da funcionalidade e da qualidade de vida das mulheres afetadas. Além disso, os estudos também indicam que as mulheres tendem a esconder o problema e, portanto, a identificação apropriada dos sintomas torna-se importante para tratar a alteração.
Para realizar a pesquisa, estão sendo convidadas mulheres, a partir de 18 anos de idade, com qualquer sintoma de incontinência urinária. Elas responderão questionários em três momentos diferentes (no primeiro contato, após uma semana e depois de um mês) e receberão orientação posterior de acordo com o tipo de sintoma apresentado, visando à melhora do quadro identificado. A aplicação dos questionários pode ser realizada no Lamu, que fica no DFisio, na área Norte do Campus São Carlos da UFSCar, ou no Campus I da Fundação Educacional de São Carlos (Fesc), na Vila Nery.
As interessadas devem entrar em contato com a pesquisadora até o final do mês de agosto pelos telefones (16) 98139-3285 (WhatsApp) ou (16) 3351-9577. Projeto aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa da UFSCar (CAAEs: 50779815.8.0000.5504 e 50229415.9.0000.5504).
